Saturday afternoon I was able to score a great set of “Blue Heaven” dishes! They were made by a company called Royal China from Sebring, Ohio. It is not a rare set, I am sure everyone’s grandmother had them but they is beautiful. As far as I can tell they were made in the mid to late 60’s. I got several pieces to start a collection on. They are a teal/blue color and will look great with my pots and pans. We will be adding pieces as we find them. Aren’t they wonderful? Not all pieces are in mint shape, there is some cracking in the glaze of the cream server, and a chip on one of the serving bowls but all in all I got them at a great price. Only $60 for all of them!
I also came across some old scrap pieces of fabric from Cloth World and got a vintage rolling pin as well. Over all it was a pretty good score for a Saturday afternoon.
The bad thing is as I was carrying the box of dishes to my car I snapped something in my back, I heard the pop, the lady I purchased them heard the pop and I literally fell to my knees. luckily the woman was kind enough to carry the box to my car and I was able to gather myself up and make it to the car. The pain was unbelievable and I was so mad at my self for being so foolish. Finally after a day and a half I am able to sit upright, I can move my arms a lot better, but alas I did not get my pattern laid out this weekend. But you know what they say, the best laid plans …..
